Commander's Column

Please click here for important updates to the 2010 general orders.

Where did the time go?  Nominations and elections are over.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank my officers and auxiliaries for an OUTSTANDING job.

Because of their selfless efforts, team spirit, and true comradeship have made our post the leader within our district.

Our membership drives increased our membership to an all-time high of 114%.  Our post received notification of our accomplishment in October 2009, for reaching 100%.

Collaboration with our local recruiters, (SFC. Gerald Smith & Eric Conway), we have initiated a new membership program and are currently working on rolling the program to other VFW posts in the area.

This is our opportunity to provide candidates our Post as a resource.  The program also includes a sponsorship for these new recruits created to assist their families during his or her tour overseas.

To compliment this program further, we are also making available our Wi-Fi and website as an additional method of communication to their families.  Since the creation of our website and web presence, we have been able to communication to all of our comrades near and far.  Our website now accommodates blogs, unlimited amount of photos, and other great features.

While working with our auxiliaries we created and generated three newsletters with the last due in June of this year.  After sixty-two years of existence, our board members created and adopted new by-laws.

Our Post Quartermaster has painstakingly created a post budget that will further assist the new Post Commander the ability to manage the post finances efficiently and effectively.

In closing, thank you all for a fantastic and memorable year.  I encourage everyone to give the new leadership his or her continued support.

Post Commander

From the Chaplain
Bob Vargas

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.  Protect them as they protect us.  Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Amen

Whats in a smile?

It works from the inside out not from the outside in. We receive gladness in our hearts as a gift from God not as a result of some forced smile that might bring a temperary good feeling.

My prayer today is that in your low moments you look up to God so he can grant you peace and fill your heart with gladness and joy beyond compare. The heart touched God's grace brings joy to the face.

Keep smiling Jesus Christ loves YOU!!!

Have a Blessed day.
